She has an Inn dedicated to her in DD2 but she's one of many of the old roster that currently isn't playable or killable in DD2. The only exception being Junia, the Vestal. can be renamed or killed off on a whim, so it's best not to overthink it too much (such as paradoxes or a side-effect of being a Lovecraftian headphuck).Īgain, we now have a sequel with named characters - and those same characters (who's heads you can carry around with you in DD1), are very much alive and attached to their heads in the sequel, but I'm still suspecting that it took place before DD1 rather than after it - which is something we won't know for a year or more. Alas, it is also a game where Dismas and Co. The Collector was introduced a while after DD1 was dropped, so it's a fun bit of lore about his head collecting, even though those same characters can still technically be alive. I suspect that Red Hook didn't really bank on the idea of future games, because the situation has now flipped from endless armies of "class-clones" of player-generated names into one with individual named characters. The most you can say is that DD2 is potentially a prequel, and if so, it's possible three characters where killed by the Collector at some point, but that's all very early speculation at best. Most of the classes already had preset names here in DD1, but they have been cemented in DD2, and at least 2/3 of the head 'victims' are still very much alive. It's just a bit of funky side-lore to flesh the Collector a bit.įor starters, the name's of the head-trinkets are also the official names of the characters. Which would make Dismas some kind of paradox. Originally posted by Demethrite:I forgot, but aren't theses lore related? Like adventurers hired by your ancestor or something?
